Gran Canaria, Tamadaba Natural Park walking short break is literally a trip that is going to lead you from summit to sea, across the largest pine forest of Gran Canaria. You will undertake a linear walk through rocky mountains, and go through the highest village of the island. Then, you will enter the Natural Park of Tamadaba, strolling between pine trees and ravines called “Barancos”. Finally, you will reach the West coast of the island, with its impressive cliffs. A perfect combo of mountains and forests to get an essential overview of the island.

You will spend your first night in Fontanales.

Hotel: Cabañas Valle Verde

15 km

After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Mirador del Sargento from where you will start your 15km walk to Fontanales. During this walk, you will pass through Artenara, the highest village in Gran Canaria, a sort of perch dominating a landscape of rocky mountains, valleys encircled around a plateau of altitude peaks of cactuses and palm trees, with lush pines and cultivated fields. This trail will provide you with a scenic view over the Caldeira de Tejeda and its famous volcanic peak of Roque Bentayga in its centre.

16 km

Today a transfer will take you to Presa de Lugarejos, in Parque Natural de Tamadaba. From here, you will have a 16km walk to Agaete. This park is the largest pine forest of Gran Canaria, spread on mountains between 1200m and 1400m above sea level. More than 7500ha of rugged wild landscapes, zebras of deep ravines, conducive to superb walks for lovers of unspoiled nature.

10 km

Today you will have 1 looped walk of 10km starting and finishing in Agaete. This old typical village does not lack charm with its little white houses and its mountainous background, but its peculiarity is especially that one cultivates the only cafe of Europe. Below Agaete is the authentic port of Puerto de las Nieves, from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the West coast cliffs of Gran Canaria. If you walk along the seafront and its volcanic black sand beach you will find the Salinas, 3 natural sea pools.
